Hang tags (gift tags) go anywhere and by themselves make great gifts. Like regular ATCs, these work up fast and easy. I often do several at one time. If a piece of ephemera or a cut-out doesn’t work on one, I’ll put it on another.
They also make great business cards. I can’t find it to show, but a garden design company stamped their information on these; used wire through the hole, and punched two small holes in the card with a small twig running through it. I never threw it away because of its artistic appeal, and I’ll keep looking so I can post it in the future.
Instead of using up all my ribbon on these tags, I’ll cut the selvage off fabric (I throw away NOTHING) and use that as ribbon. It’s pre-frayed and I like it even better when there’s wording on it. Jute is great for hang tags, and so is paper twist, twist ties, wire, torn fabric, shoelaces, lace, and pipe cleaners. Have you used anything unusual to adorn these? Let me know, and I’d love to see a picture.
