Crazy Cuffs: Mixed Media Meets Textile Art

From the Sea

What emboldens us as we age?  I seem to have no fear when it comes to the shear wackiness of my creations.  These two new cuffs are prime examples. Mixing felted wool, shells, glass bottles and sand, buttons, beads, angora (don’t you LOVE angora?), old rhinestones, ephemera and zipper pieces~

Newest Cuff

It just seems so silly it winds up being cute.  The sand bottle cuff is particularly nice worn over a thin-weave, cream-colored sweater, which is how I designed it.

Don’t worry about those bottles.  You can hardly break them with a hammer, they’re so small and thick. And I’m not making a dent in my junk stash, so I figure I can make these until the end.  End of what????

About Patsye

I am an older woman and artist. I love to craft. I love to sew and knit and crochet and needlepoint. I love to paint and draw and make art with my hands. Being creative is what gets me up in the morning. Art is my tea, my fresh air, my good book, and my cats all rolled into one. I have much to share and hope you'll visit often.
