Tree Study in the Journal

I am all over these Richard Taylor books.  I like his instructions, and this tree is far different than any other I’ve ever painted.  He’s all about the color.  Now so am I.

Because I normally paint trees in multiples, I rarely spend much time on them other than to lighten each as they recede.  But I’m now thinking that the detail can be lightened incrementally as well, which may add more depth and character.

About Patsye

I am an older woman and artist. I love to craft. I love to sew and knit and crochet and needlepoint. I love to paint and draw and make art with my hands. Being creative is what gets me up in the morning. Art is my tea, my fresh air, my good book, and my cats all rolled into one. I have much to share and hope you'll visit often.
